2006-09-13 [Cia_mar]: hey now i think i remember monk saying that a forfeit meant that the next runner up for that team would be in the running to take a player's place... would that mean that monk himself would then take your place?... hmmm...
and yuri, a bet for the team to win it all and not on the individual player wouldn't be effected by a forfiet, would it?

2006-09-13 [Yuriona]: I think in this case if Rogue did have to forfeit, I'd just carry all bets placed on him over to the artist who takes his place since its not like he'd be forfeiting because he's a lazy ass. Being hospitalized is a pretty good excuse I think. LOL!

2006-09-13 [TheRogue]: I am just... UGH. :(

2006-09-13 [Cia_mar]: good point!

2006-09-13 [Evilmonk]: OK, TheRogue has just written me and is afraid he has to forfit his round, which by the rules means I would have to take his place. This is where things get a little tricky, because we haven't made the rules for a final round forfit, which we honestly didn't think was going to happen. OH! First lemme say that I wrote Marc back and asked if this is REALLY what he wanted to do. I told him to keep in mind that he would be banned from competing in the next tourney, also in accordance with the rules. So if he write back and says he is sure that that is IN FACT what he feels he has to do, then I will make it offical and step up in his withdrawl. Back to the issue. If I should take his place then we are looking at fairness here. Is it fair that iippo got a catagory from him that I might not have selected? Iffy, but I KNOW it isn't fair to make her do another work for something she had no control over. So I am going to leave the decision up to iippo. You -iippo- can change it all or change nothing. If you want to run with the wonderful piece you have then by all means say so. If you want to change my catagory, you may do that as well. If you want to change your catagory and do another work, say so and it'll happen. One thing...if you do decide to run with your current work, which is fine, the page will be locked so as to prevent any tampering. It will be treated as an entry that made the deadline, but even though I know you wouldn't, I don't wanna leave the page open for edits. That would give you whats called the "2 week" advantage. I will have 1 week from tonight to post my entry. Does this sound fair to everyone? I want it more than all to be fair, so if you have some ideas then give em to me quick, so we can keep this thing moving. All in all I feel that this is whats fair.

2006-09-13 [Rennie]: sounds about as fair as you can be :)

2006-09-13 [Evilmonk]: I hope so. It's unfortunate but I told him Life always comes first. One can't exist without the other, you know?

2006-09-13 [iippo]: If it comes to that, I wish to change nothing: I would choose 'trapped' as your category as well, since it is the coolest category that hasn't been done yet. :) It is also impossible for me to do another one, since I had this tournament-thing pretty carefully timed for the four weeks that it took: now I have only 7 days left of my summer holiday before moving to England again, and that whole week will go to serious real life -faffing, won't really have time to draw something this big. :/

2006-09-13 [Perplexity]: I think you should stand by that entry anyway, iippo - what a marvelous idea! A basketball team lol that never even occurred to me! =D

2006-09-13 [Cia_mar]: yeah i think that the opponant that takes over for the forfitor should get the same catagory that was chosen to begin with... that seems fair! and also i think a fair ruling would be to allow the opponant that did not forfit to decide whether or not they keep their own theme or to allow the new player to choose a new one! either way i think the advantage should go to shoever doesn't forfit when it comes to choice! hope that all made sense!

2006-09-13 [TheRogue]: I'm sorry guys.. :( I hate to let everyone down like that. I thought I could pull something out this time, but I have so much going on I didn't get anything done. So Yes. I am officially withdrawing from the competition, understanding the rules of what happens due to my forfeiture. Admitting I couldn't do what I set out to do is very hard for me, I don't give up easy. *sigh* good luck guys.

2006-09-13 [Yuriona]: Hey, real life happens. We know you're not the type to give up without a fight Rogue.

2006-09-13 [TheRogue]: as long as everyone knows that i'm not just flaking out. :( it would hurt alot if everyone thought that is what I was doing.

2006-09-13 [Cia_mar]: *hands rogue a box of corn flakes*  lol

2006-09-13 [Evilmonk]: As long as you had a good time doing it...that is what counts. Yes, its a contest and yes, everyone wants to win, but this should be- bottom line- FUN! You can learn somethings along the way too but you should be having a good time while challenging yourself creatively. I just felt that DIRECT competition brings out some folks best work. Thats the theme. The ban? Well thats just to discourage folks from forfiting and to think about this seriously before entering. It's NEVER personal. It's just one of those things that has to adhere for everyone. No Marc, NO-ONE thinks you flaked on us. You did the best you could, and I think if...and thats a big "if", I was to win this thing, that folks would still know it should have been you going for it all. Actually...now that I think of it...what would everyone say if we gave Marc another week? Since time has been the only issue, and I would have to take a week to get my entry done, what if we give a one time re-prieve to the one who is REALLY SUPPOSED to be in this thing, to the finish? The only thing we'd lose is a week, which I would have to have anyways. Marc has had a hard week and was sick and all. This would not be a regular thing, but I REALLY don't feel right about ending this on a forfit, and I would take no joy if I was victorious knowing it was not me that was supposed to be. I think we should let em go. Objections?

2006-09-13 [Evilmonk]: Can you do it Marc, if you were presented with another week?

2006-09-13 [Rennie]: I may be biased, but I for one would like to see this contest close as it was meant to.

2006-09-13 [iippo]: No objection from me. Considering that he hasn't started yet(right? Didn't misunderstand here, did I?), it wouldn't make a difference, since I took a week to do that drawing, and he'd have a week to do his, so it'd be even. And if absolutely necessary for all fairness, I can even change the subject if people think he too should have just one week to think and do the whole thing, but I'm not fust about that (I do want to see "trapped" done).

2006-09-13 [TheRogue]: If everyone else has no heartburn with it, I will accept the reprieve, though I will accept it honorably, but carefully. No I have not started on anything or really even came up with an idea so we can keep 'trapped' if you want.

2006-09-13 [Evilmonk]: Good, good, good! It just didn't feel right, you know? Marc has earned the right to be here and since this is THE FIRST EVE tourney, I would like to see it end with the folks who earned the right to be where they are. This makes me very happy! =D

2006-09-13 [Elisha Kelly]: :O I thought I had this page on watch.... naughty me.. Nice entry [iippo] :D
